PRELUDE & CANDLE LIGHTING  Come Just As You Are

WELCOME

*CALL TO WORSHIP

Welcome to this place:
where children and seasoned citizens sit side by side,
where heaven and earth embrace in peace,
where God has been, is, and always will be.
Welcome to this place, as we gather with all of God's children:
where we find God's love,
where we hear the tender voice of Jesus,
where the Spirit teaches us new songs.
Welcome to this place, where all is made ready by our God:
where we bring our hunger, and find food;
where we bring our brokenness, and find healing;
where we bring our very selves, and find acceptance.

Let us worship God!

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Lord, you are a God who keeps promises.  In our prayers and songs we say that we want to be Christians, but then we forget our promises.  Our actions do not match up with our words.  We say we accept all people, but we exclude some or limit their participation because of their age.  We hurt others’ feelings, we think of ourselves first, and worst of all, we ignore you.  Lord, forgive us and hear our prayer for Jesus’ sake.  Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.  Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.  Amen.
