December 22, 2019:  Fourth Sunday of Advent

PRELUDE

WELCOME & ANNOUNCEMENTS

*PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

ADVENT SONG:  Now It’s Time to Light the Candle, v. 4

Now it’s time to light the candle,
Shining love in Jesus’ name.
When all people join together
Earth will never be the same.

Light will overcome the darkness:
Be the love the Christ Child brings.

ADVENT CANDLE LIGHTING & THE LORD’S PRAYER

…Let us pray together:

Light of the World, we thank you for the love you have brought to our lives.  Pour into our hearts this day the light of your love, warming us to one another, enlightening our understanding of others, and blooming abundantly as only your love can.  We wait together by the light of this candle, praying,

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.  Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.  Amen.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Generous God, you give us the greatest gift of all, yourself,

but often we find it hard to take notice;

we are caught up with our own gifts, given and received.

Forgive us, generous God,

for the casual way we treat your gift of love.

Cast out our sin and enter in, be born in us today.  Amen.
