January 26, 2020:  Third Sunday after Epiphany

PRELUDE & CANDLE LIGHTING

WELCOME

*CALL TO WORSHIP

Jesus said, “Follow me.”

We don’t always know what that means.

We are on a journey of discovery.

We are here because we want to be God’s people.

We are here because we are broken and want to be whole again.

We are here to celebrate our lives, and God’s presence in this life.

Let us worship God with great thanksgiving!

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Compassionate God, we confess the times when we have closed ourselves to your love.  We cling to our fear, our guilt, our self-hatred, rather than to let ourselves be warmed and healed by your love. We close our hearts, refusing to be channels of your love to others.  Forgive us, and give us courage to trust you and to let your love flow through us to others; through Jesus Christ we pray.  Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.  Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.  Amen.
