Verse 1:  Light of the World, you stepped down into darkness,

opened my eyes, let me see.

Beauty that made this heart adore you,

hope of a life spent with You.

Chorus: So here I am to worship, here I am to bow down,

Here I am to say that you’re my God.

You’re altogether lovely, altogether worthy, altogether wonderful to me.

Verse 2King of all days, oh so highly exalted,

glorious in heaven above.

Humbly you came to the earth you created,

all for love’s sake became poor.

(Chorus)

Bridge:  And I’ll never know how much it cost

to see my sin upon that cross.

And I’ll never know how much it cost

to see my sin upon that cross.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION                                                                                              Pastor Janice Ogoshi

God, you placed us in the world to be its salt.

We are afraid of committing ourselves,

afraid of being stained by the world.

We do not want to hear what “they” might have to say,

and our salt dissolves as if in water.

Forgive us, Jesus.

God, you placed us in the world to be its light.

We are afraid of the shadows, afraid of poverty.

We do not want to know other people’s struggles,

and our light slowly fades away.

Forgive us, Jesus.

God, you placed us in the world to live in community.

Thus you taught us to love, to share in life,

to struggle for bread and justice,

your truth incarnate in our life.

So be it, Jesus.  Amen.

Verse 1Lord, the light of Your love is shining

In the midst of the darkness shining;

Jesus, light of the world shine upon us,

Set us free by the truth You now bring us;

Shine on me, shine on me.

Chorus:  Shine Jesus shine
Fill this land with the Father's glory
Blaze Spirit blaze, set our hearts on fire
Flow river flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy
Send forth Your word, Lord, and let there be light

Verse 2:  Lord, I come to Your awesome presence

From the shadows into your radiance;

By the blood I may enter Your brightness

Search me, try me, consume all my darkness;

Shine on me, shine on me.

(Chorus)

Verse 3:  As we gaze on your kingly brightness,

So our faces display Your likeness;

Ever changing from glory to glory,

Mirrored here, may our lives tell your story;

Shine on me, shine on me.

(Chorus)
