WELCOME

CALL TO WORSHIP  Based on Psalm 15:1-2
Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent?
Who may live on your holy mountain?
The one whose walk is blameless,
    who does what is righteous,
    who speaks the truth from their heart;
Who then can possibly enter into God’s presence?
By the grace of Jesus Christ, we are made righteous.
So then, all are welcome to dwell in the kingdom of God!
Let us worship God!

OPENING PRAYER

SONG OF PRAISE

Blessed Be the Lord God Almighty

Father in heaven, how we love You
We lift your name in all the earth
May Your kingdom be established in our praises
As Your people declare your mighty worth

Blessed be the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is and is to come
Blessed be the Lord God Almighty
Who reigns forevermore.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Gracious God, we say we want your kingdom to come, and your will to be done, but if we are honest, we’re not so sure.  Forgive us, for we want to inherit the kingdom of heaven, but we don’t like to think of ourselves as poor in spirit, and we don’t care to be close to those who are.  Forgive us, for we love to receive your comfort, but we don’t want to know the causes of discomfort of those who mourn.  Forgive us, and give us grace to live into the values and priorities of your kingdom.  We pray in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

(Silence for personal reflection and confession)

PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

  • Sometime today, would you please call someone in our church family with whom you would like to share the peace of Christ?  Pray together on the phone—God hears our prayers whether we are together in person or connecting remotely.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.  Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.  Amen.

CLOSING SONG

Blessed Be Your Name

Blessed be Your name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be Your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be Your name

Chorus:  Every blessing You pour out, I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord, still I will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord, blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's 'all as it should be'
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name
(Chorus)

Bridge:  You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord blessed be Your name
